COVID-19 Information

Child Care Guidelines

We are going above and beyond to ensure the safety of all of our children, their families, and our staff.

  • This is the COVID-19 policy of Gertrude Walden Child Care Center. This policy is enforced at all times. It is the responsibility of the parent to keep all sick children home.

  • If your child test positive for COVID-19 and/or is symptomatic:
    • Stay home and away from others for five (5) days from the date symptoms began.
    • The child can return to school on day 6 if they are fever-free for 24 hours and symptoms are improving.
       
  • If your child test positive for COVID-19 and are asymptomatic:
    • Stay home and away from others for five (5) days from the date of the positive test.
    • The child may return to school on day 6 if they are fever-free for 24 hours.
       
  • If your child is exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19:
    • If symptoms of COVID-19 develop, stay home.
    • If asymptomatic, the child does not need to quarantine, however, continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days after exposure.
      • Exposure = within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes within 24 hours.
      • Follow the above guidelines if your child test positive or has any symptoms of COVID-19.
